“For the past six years, the Browns have fully supported and invested in Josh, both personally and professionally," said Dorsey. "Unfortunately we’ve reached a point where we feel it’s best to part ways and move forward. We wish Josh well.”
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Gordon showed up to the team's facility on Saturday "a little tardy."
With the exception of his 2012 rookie year, the 26-year-old Gordon has missed some or all of every season of his professional football career because of struggles with substance abuse.
The report said the team was concerned about Gordon's sobriety.
